2010 KOHL'S AMERICAN CUP
STATE CHAMPION & RUNNER-UP
Mercer Youth Soccer Association sends two teams to the Kohl’s Cup recreational state soccer tournament and they not only both end up in the finals, they played each other for the championship. “Never before, to my knowledge, have we sent two teams in the same age group to a tournament. Much less having an all MYSA final game for the State Championship!!” After preliminary games, Daniel Pifer’s MC United and Brian Bartley’s Gator’s advanced to semifinal play for the Under 10 division. In the semi’s Bartley’s Gators downed the Fern Creek Dragons 5-4 and Pifer’s United team put the Spencer County Wizards away 7-3. In very hot and humid conditions the final game was all United, taking the gold in a 5-0 game.
